A HAPPY HOUR INDEED
BN360 and B_Team Buffalo couldn’t be more thrilled with the success of our popular charity/networking event Happy Hour For-A-Cause. An intimate fundraiser to raise awareness and support for community organizations has blossomed into popular social events with business networking opportunities for Buffalo Niagara’s young professionals.

Over the last few months, we have watched our Happy Hours grow and attract hundreds of young professionals from varying fields and backgrounds, united to support organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Theatre of Youth, Torn Space Theater, Heart of the City Neighborhoods, the Morlock Foundation and most recently the Hispanic American Veterans Memorial Fund of WNY. Together we have welcomed many new faces, networked our way into new opportunities, attracted volunteers to causes that could benefit from a few extra hands and raised thousands in charitable contributions for local agencies – and our work isn’t done yet.

On June 14, BN360 will welcome warmer weather at Summer Bash For-A-Cause in the garden of the Ronald McDonald House. Guests will enjoy an evening filled with food, drinks and fun, while working to raise awareness and funding for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York (RMHCWNY). The evening will also include chances to sign up for RMHCWNY volunteer initiatives and be entered to win prizes. For more information or to register, follow this link. See you there!

MENTORS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
This summer Buffalo Niagara 360 will partner with the University at Buffalo’s Liberty Partnerships Program (UB LLP) to provide inner city high school students with the opportunity to gain real life work experience through the UB LLP’s Summer Work Shadow Program.

The Summer Work Shadow Program is a unique job-related experience provided to high school students entering the 11th and 12th grades in the fall of 2012. This program gives select students the opportunity to train for and participate in the community workforce. This enrichment experience begins with a two-week training initiative centered in workplace etiquette and ethics and culminates with the application of learned skills in a real work setting. UB LLP is currently seeking business leaders and professionals who can host students during the summer to learn how to apply the skills and experience they have learned, making them better prepared for future work experiences.

Mentoring can be one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences you'll ever have and the summer can be just the right time to do it. If you’re interested in learning more about the UB LLP’s Summer Work Shadow Program or how to take advantage of this opportunity, contact Ramone Alexander, Project Director, UB LLP by phone at (716)829–3190 or by email at raa1@buffalo.edu
